GD&T Fundamentals Training

This is an introductory course that presents a comprehensive review of the ASME Y14.5 - 2018 GD&T Standard. CMM training sessions will include in-depth analysis of GD&T controls on engineering drawings and open discussions on best practice CMM measurement methods. The training will focus on explaining the benefits of GD&T and aim to bring each participant to an operational level of understanding.

• Revision Reference Chart – 11” x 17” GD&T Revision Reference Chart depicts Y14.5 changes.
• Characteristics Chart – This 11” x 17” chart is a quick-reference chart that gives the main aspects and rules of all 14 geometric characteristics.

UNIT 2: Rules and Advanced Concepts (MMC, Bonus Tolerance, Virtual Condition)

UNIT 3: Datums and Datum Reference Frames (Datum Reference Frames, Datum Shift, Degrees of Freedom)

UNIT 4: Tolerances of Form (Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Straightness)

UNIT 5: Tolerances of Orientation (Parallelism, Perpendicularity, Angularity)

UNIT 6: Tolerances of Location (Position, Concentricity, Symmetry)

UNIT 7: Tolerances of Profile (Line Profile, Surface Profile)

UNIT 8: Tolerances of Runout (Circular Runout, Total Runout)
